Engraved panel labels, solar placards and equipment tags

Every tag is engraved from two-color laminate, cut to size and checked against your proof before it ships. Pick the kind of job you are labeling for sizes, colors and the code sections that apply.

Electrical panel labels

Panelboard and switchboard names, voltage and phase, fed-from and source-of-supply tags. Most contractors order these per job from the panel schedule, so the builder reads a spreadsheet and turns each row into a tag. Typical sizes run from 1 x 3 inches for a small panel ID up to 3 x 8 inches for a main switchboard. White on black is the usual default, with white on red for emergency systems and fire alarm panels.

Solar PV placards

Rapid shutdown placards, PV system disconnect tags, DC voltage labels, point of interconnection labels and the 705.10 directory placard with a site map. The builder has a solar kit mode that starts from the system type and fills in the standard set, which you then edit for the job. Engraved placards outlast reflective vinyl on south-facing walls and are the safer choice where the inspector wants permanent markings.

Arc flash and warning labels

Arc flash labels built from your study data, plus DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION plates in ANSI Z535 colors. Engineering firms and facility teams send the study export as a spreadsheet, and each row becomes a tag with the nominal voltage, arc flash boundary, incident energy and working distance. Engraving makes sense in hot, dirty or washdown areas where printed labels fade or lift.

Breaker and disconnect tags

Small tags for individual breakers in switchboards, safety switches, MCC buckets and terminal blocks. These are usually 1 x 3 inches or smaller, so the builder checks text height as you type and warns before a line gets too small to read. Numbering hundreds of tags is a spreadsheet job: load the list, map the columns and every tag is laid out at true size.

Control panel nameplates

Device and component ID tags, panel door nameplates and push button or pilot light legend plates in 22 mm and 30 mm sizes. Panel shops build the same panel more than once, so every order can be saved as a job file and reordered with changes. We make the identification and legend tags. The UL 508A listing mark itself comes from UL, not from a tag supplier.

Valve tags and pipe markers

Pipe markers in the ASME A13.1 color scheme, sized by outside diameter and engraved with flow arrows, plus numbered valve tags with a chain hole. The builder has a pipe mode: pick the contents, the pipe size and the flow direction, and it sets the color, letter height and marker length. Mechanical contractors usually order valve tags straight from the valve schedule.

Equipment tags and nameplates

Laminated plastic nameplates for rooftop units, air handlers, pumps, fans, transformers and anything else on the equipment schedule. Most specs call for "engraved laminated plastic nameplates" in Division 23 or 26 identification sections, often with set colors and letter heights. Tag names match the drawings (RTU-1, AHU-2, P-3), so a spreadsheet of the equipment schedule is usually all we need.

Office and machine name plates

Door signs, desk plates and machine nameplates, with your logo engraved if you send a vector file. The same laminate and pricing apply, so a 2 x 8 inch office sign in 1/16 inch costs the same as a panel tag of that size. Pick any color pair from the builder, add adhesive or holes, and order one or a hundred.

Phenolic laminate holds up to heat, UV and cleaning. Adhesive backing goes on clean metal and stays put. Add mounting holes if you rivet or screw them.
